The Loyola University New Orleans Threat Assessment Team (“TAT”) is an advisory committee which attempts to prevent violence on campus and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment for the Loyola community. TAT is empowered by the President and the President’s Cabinet to assess and respond to reports of potentially violent behaviors exhibited by students, employees, visitors, and non-affiliated persons prior to a critical incident.

Loyola University New Orleans - Threat Assessment Team

The purpose of the Threat Assessment Team is:

  • To maintain a safe and secure environment;
  • To educate individuals on what threat assessment is, what should reasonably be considered a threat to life and/or safety, and how to best report a potential threat;
  • To provide clear and direct communication resources for individuals to express concern; and
  • To establish and maintain early intervention strategies in an attempt to prevent violence and to maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment.
